My friend Jen has a very adorable just-turned-3 year old daughter, she's a delight and just full of life. Often if I'm going to the farmer's market I'm meeting up with Jen and her daughter. Seeing the farmer's market through a 3 year old's eyes is always a kick - who and what will catch her eye? This last time an inflatable dog at the pet supply stand was a big hit, the inflatable ant was not, yuck - huge bugs! The little boy waiting for his Mom to buy corn was a great playmate until he refused to give up his Thomas the Tank Engine toys :) The free-to-kids flowers are always popular with Cate, but she doesn't understand the concept of 'Kids - Take One Free' - maybe it's because she can't read the sign yet, or perhaps is just that her little heart wants ALL of those flowers, or a at least a good fistful. The flower is usually shredded by lunchtime.
Cate reminds me of walking the farmer's market with my own children when they were little, and just like them she loves the honey sticks from the honey vendor. There's fruit to sample, bread to nibble, music to dance to - life is good when you're 3 years old and the whole farmer's market is there to entertain you. Mind you, I'm still entertained by the farmer's market and I'm a little older than 3, so yeah, life is good :)
