It's that time of year again - Winter CHA (Craft & Hobby Association). Lucky me, I get to go! Crafters all around the world look forward to hearing about new releases at CHA - everything from rubber stamps and paper crafts to fabric, painting, needlecrafts, adhesives, publications - anything and everything crafty debuts at CHA. Many companies are posting sneak peeks of their new items, I like this Queen & Company idea of bulk supplies, reducing packaging and waste is a great way to fit in with CHA's 'Green theme' this year, and this way we can choose the items we want without having to purchase a whole package - great thinking!! Also, check out new collections from Basic Grey, Tim Holtz, and Wendy Vecchi - oh so much goodness going on!!So tomorrow I pick up Rachel at the airport, then we're heading south towards Anaheim, stopping at a few points of interest (beach, stores, more stores) on the way. On Sunday the CHA event opens and it's all go. I'm only attending on Sunday, unless my week changes amazingly, so I'll be posting pics of my discoveries from the show during the week. I can't wait to see what's new and exciting in the world of papercrafting, and I might just stray a little into felting and fabrics too :) Oh, did I mention Rachel is bringing a large jar of Vegemite with her?
Gotta have Vegemite :) It's a little disturbing that Wikipedia starts out their description with the words "dark brown food paste" - mmm, that sounds delicious, doesn't it?? Ah well, it's an acquired taste... but I think you have to love a product that's "the cure of teenage problems"!!
How did we get from crafting and CHA to Vegemite? All roads lead to Vegemite :) Hope you have a close encounter with a favourite food (or major crafting goodness) this weekend!
I have some old Vegemite ads in my vintage collection and it seems it can cure just about anything according to the ads.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear all about your adventures at CHA. Have fun!
Stop by the Fiskars booth in the afternoon on Sunday. I'm working a make and take there. I'd love to meet you, Sue.
ReplyDeleteOh Oh Oh!!! How cool that you are going and get to be with Rachel!!!! Yeah!!!
ReplyDeleteI know you will see all the Ranger folks, too!!! Have fun!
All that new stuff. I now feel about fabric the way I used to about scrappin' stuff; I almost hate to buy ANYTHING that looks new and groovy 'cause I KNOW even COOLER stuff will be out in six months! Argh. Have big fun. I'll be craftin' and not eatin'. :-)
