I was so looking forward to this long weekend. Promised by the weather pundits a cooler weather weekend, I thought I'd get SO much done!! Ha! For starters the weather didn't cool off (those weather people lie!!), although today is better than it has been for a long time, so I guess I'll give the weather bloke 33% on that one, because one out of three aint bad, so Meat Loaf tells me.
Speaking of Meat Loaf, I played a 'best of 70s rock' CD the other day and there he was, belting out Bat Out of Hell, wow, it still sounds just as good as it did when I was 16 years old and EVERYONE had that tape in their car (no, not an 8 track, thanks very much, I'm not THAT old!).
Back to where I was, oh yes, the lost weekend. In addition to the hot weather, I had underestimated just how tired I was after the whole back to work, back to school, back to everything routine. So here I am on Monday afternoon, just like most Sunday afternoons, thinking about all those things I'd better get done before tomorrow morning :) I have thoroughly enjoyed three low-key days off.

One of my things 'to do' was draw a winner for the blogiversary blog candy. Fortunately for that winner I found lots of little treats in my stash, in addition to the vintage book pages, map pieces and postage stamps. There's a loteria card, some colored cardstock tags, white stock tags on strings, a metal edged tag, some serviettes (that's cocktail napkins to the rest of you), acrylic tabs, blank filmstrips for altering, funky star shaped playing cards, embossed chipboard circle, Chinese Hong Bao/Lai See envelopes, tea tags, and the limited edition ATC made for the Darkroom Door challenge last week. What use is all that stuff? Hopefully the winner will find them useful for altered art, art journals, collage or just paper arts in general, I'm pretty sure you'll find something to do with all of it.
Many thanks to everyone who left messages and signed up to follow my humble little blog. SO who's the winner? That would be Tami B of Dapple Designs. Send me your address Tami and I'll get these in the mail to you this week.Wishing you all a great week, with blue skies and a cool breeze (no matter what the weather bloke says!).

Congratulations to Tami!!!! What an awesome RAK - and she is just the person to put it all to good use:)
ReplyDeleteSo, no 8 tracks, eh? I had 8 tracks... And I am 47... I swear Meatloaf was hot when I was 16, too!!!
Love that Bat Out of Hell Song... As a matter of fact, I even scrapped it, but changed to words to be a mom talking to her kids (will you love me, baby baby will you love me... )
LOL Andi, I'll fess up - some people did still have 8 tracks in the car, but they were already on the outs, and i NEVER had an 8 track :) I'm just sayin' ...
ReplyDeleteP.S. Meat Loaf took a year or two to get down to Australia, that's all there is in it.
Hi Sue! Thanks for popping by. I loved your wee description of the lady at the subway stop! So apt.
ReplyDeleteHave a great back to everything week!
Cheers,
Shelagh
Oh, Sue, I'm so excited to play with all those goodies. Such wonderful treasure and those serviettes crack me up. Can't wait to play. I didn't get much done this weekend either. Well, I got us new cell phones, did the laundry, a little treasure hunting, and baked a cake. No art time, like I had hoped. Just no mojo. I'll bet those goodies help me find the art mojo again. It was too hot here, too. Thank you for all the yummy goodies. I'm doing a happy dance.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Tami! I love the goodie packs you put together, Sue! The collage one looks like fun! :-)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Sue! Your life sounds incredibly full - how wonderful! Love your beauty ATC too btw.
