This is the beach below Trump International Golf Course. Part of The Donald's deal with the City was that he has to leave public access since it's on the coast, so lucky locals get to wander on the walking trails, and down the cliffside paths to the beach. Parts of the beach are very rocky, and others, like this, more sandy, but all along the beach are treasures for beachcombers - shells, sea glass, driftwood, and sometimes skeletons of birds or sealife that have washed ashore. Sometimes there's trash too, I'm never sure if it washed up from passing boats and ships, or was left by a beach party, but my hope is that people realize they need to keep the planet clean so we can all share it for a long time! On of my neighbors built a large labyrinth walk on the beach using some of the stones found there, what a cool idea!
This little bird was quite brave, standing there on his rock oblivious to incoming waves, well, I think he sees them, he just doesn't let it ruffle his feathers :)All of us have in our veins
the exact same percentage of salt in our blood
that exists in the ocean, and, therefore,
we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears.
We are tied to the ocean.
And when we go back to the sea --
whether it is to sail or to watch it --
we are going back from whence we came.
