Stamp Credits: Darkroom Door, Stewart Gill paints, Cuttlebug texture embossing, Nestabilities die cutsOK, so sometimes I do manage to play with lighter colors, and it's so not my comfort zone, but I'm pretty happy with this one. The background for the image is this amazing shimmery pearlized paint by Stewart Gill - seriously, they have incredible products - their paints do wonders on paper AND fabric, the fabrics stay flexible even after painting. I met the Stewart Gill team at a quilting show and was so impressed with how versatile the products are, love the wide range of colors and finishes they offer, paper and fabric artists you really NEED to try them out! I'm hoping to play a bit more with inking and painting fabric, if only there were more hours in the day and less work to get done ;) I also put the SG paints on some modeling paste recently - works great on that too.
I'm trying to put together some Easter projects, love these flowers from Darkroom Door, and I'm even having fun with these Easter egg colors for a change. I have a pathological bias against pink for some reason, but I know others like it so I'm giving it a go ... do you have a color that you find hard to work with?

Beautiful card Sue! Love the softness of it. Trying to think if there is actually a color I don't like to work with... maybe orange, but it has it's place too.
ReplyDeleteGreat card Sue!!
ReplyDeleteI find peach sometimes hard to work with!
Lovely card, Sue.
ReplyDeleteI think my "ick" color is purple. Funny thing...years ago Donna wrote and said, "I didn't know purple was your favorite color." I said, "It's not. What makes you think it is." "Because I was just looking at the all about me surveys on the old yahoo group and that's what you stated." "Oooohhhhh." I said. "THAT would be why people keep sending me purple stuff!" lol. What a maroon I can be sometimes.
Hi, Sue! Lovely card! I love the Stewart Gill paints, too! :-)
ReplyDeleteRight here with you on difficulty with pastels. They feel so washed out, but lately I'm using them. Must be a spring thing. Love the shimmer of that paint. I'll keep my eye out for it.
