Happy Easter!

I went out last night hoping to take some sunset photos, but I got distracted by a little old church close to the coast, as you do. In the end I didn't take any sunset photos at all, but I did find these lovely Calla Lillies in the garden of the church - what better symbol of Easter? The one above hasn't unfurled yet, I love that shape and the soft green inside.

The open lillies are fabulous, very stately, and such a lovely ivory color.
This is the church that distracted me from the sunset, Stella Maris, don't you love that classic steeple? I don't actually attend this church, it's one of the hold-outs from Vatican II, so it's Latin Rite and very old-school - women must wear dresses and clothe themselves modestly, men must wear long trousers - unfortunately someone has torn the sign from the door that outlines all the rules - they are lengthy and quite serious!
This is a card I sent out for Easter to far flung places, I love the iris from Darkroom Door and had good time lighting it up with some glittery Stickles. The kiddos will be looking for goodies from the Easter Bunny - I see a lot of chocolate in their near future. Wishing you a very Happy Easter.

  3. Your flower pics are beautiful. There is such a correlation between the lilies and the church, they are both tradition filled and stately.
