This card was made for someone I work with, her mother passed away just before Christmas. I think most cardmakers will agree with me that sympathy cards are just the hardest to make - I don't want to end up sounding like a Hallmark card (ack! did I mention the H word here??), I don't want the cards to be dark and dreary, I just want to communicate care, thoughts, prayers. Sometimes that means the cards just don't get made, but this time it's done and I'm thinking of making some more to have on hand, so I don't have this total angst session every time a sympathy card is called for. So the year starts as it must, beginnings and endings, ebb and flow.
Thought for the day?

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I like to create cards that either are reflective or show signs of spring as in new life. I think this does that it shows signs of new life.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a serene card. I am so hesitant to do sympathy cards for fear of showing "me" and not the feeling that I want to share.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful card. I love everything about it.
ReplyDeletebeautiful card Sue. I like the sponging of the sky and grass along with the glitter on the leaves.
ReplyDeleteSue, this is gorgeous. What a lovely sympathy card. The simplicity and elegance says it all. Beautiful!!
