I have the great good fortune to share online space with some very dear friends, some of whom I've never met in person (yet). I feel very lucky to have connected with like-minded souls through message boards, blogs, and online sites. Years ago a group of crafters and artists who connected online at a stamping message board formed our own online group where we could share arty adventures and mail swaps.

In addition to our creative endeavours, we've shared many of life's ups and downs, dramas and triumphs, some of us have met up in person, and some have yet to meet. This little tag was made for a 'mingle' in that group - a mingle is like a mini-swap, all you do is make one item in the theme of the swap and mail it to the next person on the list, sweet and simple. My swap partner's initial is "K".

Even the smallest project is fun to get into. This time I wanted to stick with a sewing theme, so I dug into my Grandmother's sewing basket stash. I knew I wanted some black fasteners and hooks, and I had a hunch I'd find some in Nana's thrifty sewing supplies - even the smallest items were saved, as evidenced by the tiny worn pieces of card I found with fasteners, hooks and eyes attached - saved inside the old box from Hamblin 'Opticians by Appointment' (that means to royalty of some sort, in this case the three crests were for H.M. Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother; His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh; and The Late Queen Mary.)

Countless years ago a pair of eyeglasses would have been housed in the box, and since nothing went to waste the box was re-used to store sewing supplies. How old is the box? I have no idea, but the telephone number was only 4 digits, and telegrams could be sent to the same number, that's pretty old! Thanks Nana, knew I could count on you:)

  1. A telephone No with 4 digit is a clear indication of how old it could be.
Good to know that you are still holding on to it.

  6. I apologize for asking this in your comments, but couldn't find a link to email you.

Was wondering if you had a link on your blog for the cookie sheet calendar that you made for Buzz and Bloom. Love it!

    Thanks so much.
