Here we are heading into a new month - wow, September, how did we get here?  Each new year I think "This year every moment will count, I won't look back and wonder where did the year go?!?" but of course, time does have a habit of flying by, and this year, like all the others, is rattling right along at a rapid pace, and that's OK.  That's the nature of time, or our recollections of time - memorable moments connected by spans that flash by quickly, rather like a train journey with the scenery appearing and then vanishing as you look out through the windows.

One of my fun times this year was working with Operation Write Home (OWH) at the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) show in January.  Sometime around June I managed to package up some cards I had made to send to OWH, which they then sort, pack and mail out to units serving overseas - people who are giving their lives to service and don't happen to have a Hallmark store handy.  They can take cards from the OWH boxes and use them to write home, stay in touch with family and friends, communicate and send all their love back home.

I was delighted to be asked if it was OK to post some of my cards as a 'Featured Cardmaker' at OWH, um yes, thank you!  I just found out I was featured last week, so here's a link to my Featured Cardmaker post on the OWH blog.  Several of the cards feature stamps from a special collection made by Hero Arts just for OWH - 25% of the profits from sales of these stamps is donated to OWH.

Many thanks to the OWH team for all their hard work, and if you are looking for some card making eye-candy and fun challenges to participate in they are having a Virtual Cardmaking Party this weekend with tons of great ideas, there's even a little blog candy here and there :)

Thanks for visiting my blog today :)

Operation Write Home & Hero Arts
both have custom stamps you can use
to identify your OWH card donations
