Do you watch the Oscars? I love Oscars night - the fashion, the industry staples and the rising stars, glimpses of movies I want to see, and this year -Hugh Jackman hosting!
Did you see The Dark Knight? His performance was amazing, but I can't take much joy in a posthumous award for him, I'd much rather he was out there in the audience, win or lose, what a terrible loss in so many ways.
Slumdog Millionaire
This picture doesn't really capture what I love most about the movie, but whatever it takes to encourage you to go and see it is fine by me. Be warned though, it's gritty in parts, triumph over adversity means showing the adversity, and there's plenty of that.I've been remiss in answering friends who have sent me blog awards, so I need to get my act together and post those, with appropriate thank you speeches :) Hope you have a chance to watch the Oscars - who are you hoping will win this year?

I LOVE Oscar night! I have to record it and watch it in bits and pieces over the upcoming week.. Drives my husband crazy that I love this stuff... ditto with the Grammys...
ReplyDeleteSo, Hugh, is what I am looking forward to!!! Oh man....
I did see the Dark Night... it was entertaining - but not spectacular... I mourned for Heath the entire time.. He was such a hottie.. I fell in lust with him when he did 'A Knight's Tale' - the one with the ever so awesome music and hot dance to 'Golden Years' by David Bowie, and other music by Queen, etc. ...
Oh man.. did I get side tracked!
Yes... Oscar Night...
What a shame the Oscars are the middle of the night for us! Hoping Slumdog will sweep the board of course and would like Mickey Rourke to get a gong. Would love to see Heath Ledger honoured too 0 what a talent and what a waste...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and hope we get to have a chat soon, sending lots of love to you all :) K x
Hugh Jackman was astounding! I had NO IDEA he was such a bundle of charm and talent. Wow!! I feel sorry for whoever tries to follow in his footsteps! heath---sorry he OD'd, but I'm really about *over* his posthumous awards. Let's move on to the living and working actors! Slumdog---LOVED it. I can't imagine anyone watching it and not feeling somehow changed. Overall, great awards show! :-)
