Looking Up - Beijing

Painted Portal in the Hutongs, Beijing

When wandering around places that are new to me, and even those I know well, I try to look up (and down, but more about that another time) to make sure I'm seeing all there is to see.

In Beijing there is plenty to see when you look up - here are a few examples.

As you go about your business this week, try to look up, and notice the things that otherwise might just pass you by.

I concluded that China must have been a very busy place for artisans, although they would have spent a lot of time up ladders and laying on trestles a la Michealangelo. I suppose it's still a busy place for artists - someone must be restoring these amazing works of art.

Did you discover any treasures along your path that you hadn't noticed before?
