On a recent weekend we went to the beach for a memorial service. A local hero, John Olguin, passed away, and the community gathered to salute him near the ocean - John had spent his life teaching about the ocean, initially as a lifeguard, then founding the local aquarium, whale watch activities, and generally enriching the community.
After the memorial, everyone walked to the beach to watch the local fireboat put on a display, the rescue boat is dedicated in John's name, and the tall ship fired off a canon salute. Watching the jets of water spray against the blue sky and sparkling ocean was a magical moment, safe passage John, fair winds and following seas.
Visit Skwatch Friday to see what other Sky-watchers around the planet see when they look up and out.
Thanks for having a look at my Sky Watch post. I like the way the fire boat in your post links thye sea and the sky.
